Writing Progress Update: W8

| My February Writing Goals | 2020’s writing bucket list | (All) Writing Progress Updates |

As I mentioned earlier in my last announcement, I’m splitting up my writing progress update posts this time. It’s been a couple of weeks since I last talked about my writing and so I’ve got a lot to share. Two projects, one you already know, one new I’d like to introduce you to. This post however, is a general update. Wordcounts, reflections and goals to be shared here.

So, Elisa, what took you so long?

Well, dear reader, because life is a vengeful soab.

What a strange year 2020 has been so far. I hate it, but I also love it, and it’s probably going to remain one heck of a rollercoaster ride as the year progresses. It’s strange how life can combine to such a degree where it’s hard to say how things are actually going. Like bright sunshine during a huge downpour. What I can say though, is that my writing is still going well.

Writing music of the week is a bit of music from Nier!

I really did work hard over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been inspired and wow do I love my current WIPs. They complement each other in a way that when one gets too much for me, I can easily switch to the other. My Blood Maiden (a.k.a. Cursed Enemies to Lovers). is pretty heavy and dark. It’s got some explicit scenes as well. On the other hand there’s my Masquerade WIP and it’s mostly fluff and sensory bliss.

Thanks to these two projects (and some blogging I never finished, ehum) I’ve managed to produce the following weekly wordcounts since my last writing progress update:

  • Week 4: 5.109 words
  • Week 5: 16.783 words
  • Week 6: 10.386 words
  • Week 7: 12.628 words

Which makes this month’s total about 33.500 words including this week’s numbers!

Part of why the numbers are so high (at least for me, lol) is because I for some reason managed a daily writing spree of 34 days! I’ve never written that many days after each other before! The spree’s been broken by now, but I don’t mind. Breaks are important, especially between sprees.

That’s nice, huh!

Goals and aspirations

Reflecting on my goals for this month (you can find them here), I did really great!

My goals for this month are:

  • Write February’s newsletter (sign up here),
  • Write blog posts,
  • Write at least 1.000 words for a short story or flash fiction,
  • Write at least 10.000 words for Cursed Enemies to Lovers,

The first I’ll work on soon, I’m currently working on the second, and the third and fourth I’ve already completed by far. Of course I’m going to continue on as I have so the numbers will only rise. One of these days I really should have something finished and polished enough for submission or self-publishing.

What’s to come

So next, I’ll be talking about my WIPs in more detail. It’s scheduled to post in a couple of days, so be sure to come back. There’ll be snippets from my my work in each of them. Don’t want to miss anything? I’ll also leave links to this month’s posts in my newsletter, so if you haven’t yet, you can sign up here.
